Focus Adventures Workshops are the featured photo workshop program in the Writer's Digest Book, Photographer's Market 2001,

Additionally, Focus Adventures has been chosen by Colorado Meetings and Events magazine (Spring/Summer 2005) as one of the top 15 unique experiences for VIPs in Colorado. Have you ever been to the Galápagos Archipelago? Are you famiiar with the Cloud Forest of Northern Ecuador? Both of these incredible itineraries throughout the islands and in the Cloud Forest offer our guests unmatched experiences.

As you cruise through the Galápagos you will have opportunities to view and photograph an abundance of birdlife, land and marine iguanas, sea lions, Galápagos tortoises, volcanic craters, beautiful beaches and more. The roomy and comfortable16 passenger Anahi motor catamaran yacht (which is larger and more stable than a monohull) will be our traveling home on the water for the week.

In the Cloud Forest of the Northern Andes, your home away from home will be the lovely Nono Villa Doris Country Guest House. Nono is a small parish located about 40 minutes north of Quito. Our stay here allows our small group of photographers to have the best of Ecuadorian hospitality, amazing biodiversity, gastronomic experiences, and daily excursions, all while contributing to the sustainable development of the surrounding
community.

Here you will be photographing along the Eco Route of the Hummingbird and the Ecuadorian highlands on the Northern slope of the Pichincha Volcano. Photograph the landscapes offered by the clouds playing with the forest. You will mingle with the locals, visit a lovely rose farm, and other day trips will also take you to photograph at beautiful Pahuma Orchid Reserve, the incredible San Tadeo Reserve and more.

Going to Ireland is like going home again, even if you're not Irish! This photo tour is focused on the real Ireland - the areas that tourists don't often see. Karen & Joel have designed this itinerary to incorporate not only their favorite town of Westport but traveling further afield to a lovely fishing village along the South Coast and then continuing on for some of the most dramatic landscapes in all of Ireland - the Dingle Peninsula.

County Mayo is the Ireland of your imagination - beautiful and inspiring, with breathtaking landscapes, fascinating coutryside and culture. Music and history inspire your curiosity. Westport has many traditional music pubs and you will be able to join in the fun with your Irish guide and musician, Connie Cullen, on a few evenings. Mayo people are warm and friendly and take pride in making their land your land!

Your journey south from County Mayo takes you south through County Clare, with photo opportunities along the way to the mighty Dingle Peninsula, which thrusts out into the Atlantic, claiming Ireland's most westerly point. In addition to it's majestic hills and gorgeous velleys, the region boasts some 2000 prehistoric and early Christian remains. Your hotel here is locted in the small Gaelic village of Ballyferier, which is nestled in a stunning green valley.

Karen has been leading photo tours to Ireland since 1998. She and Joel have also done some bicycle touring there.They both have an affinity with the local people, their culture, and enjoy sharing their favorite locations with tour participants. Karen believes that participating in a photo tour is about more than making great photographs. It's a journey of personal growth and self-discovery!
What to Expect from Karen and Joel on a Strabo Photo Tour Collection Trip

Karen and Joel Schulman are both accomplished professional photographers, each with over 44 years in the photographic field. Karen is a skilled and sensitive photographic artist and educator and during each tour, will share ideas and knowledge to help you create great travel photographs, whether you are using a DSLR or an iPhone!

Joel is an expert in the digital imaging world and has done photographic printing for some of the most notable names in fine art photography. He will share his knowledge of both the technical and creative aspects of the photographic medium. Together, they will offer visual presentations and discussions highlighting the development of personal vision and awareness, and show how light, color, composition, gesture and 'the moment' contribute to the success of a photograph.
